How we help using Nutrigenomics
The Genomic Wellness Group uses nutritional genomics to address the clinical relationship between your DNA, genes, and epigenetics in relation to your diet and health outcomes. The great debate over nature versus nurture is determined by the underlying presence of genes within your← DNA which are modified by your diet, your environment, and your stress. Since most of your cells are completely renewed in seven years, 100% of your entire body is from the food that you have eaten during that time. At our core, humans← are biochemistry that eats biochemistry that supports our biochemistry. The food that you eat either helps or harms your genetics. Either way, we have a choice.
Our Functional Lifestyle Medicine protocol addresses food and its relationship to your DNA, genes, and epigenetics.
Genomics
Genomics is a branch of biology that deals with DNA, genetics, and epigenetics. Each of the 100 trillion cells in your body contains six foot of DNA which contains up to 25,000 genes. These genes regulate everything from our eye color to our metabolism. Some genes like height or hair color are static genes while other genes can be turned on and off which can greatly determine our health outcomes. These switches are controlled through diet and lifestyle and their regulation is called epigenetics. The Genomic Wellness Group can tailor treatments based on your genetic profile to ensure greater efficacy.
